AnyWare Radio Prototype 0.2 Warts List

These are known issues (“warts”) to be improved in future releases. Should you encounter anomalies not identified herein, please advise.

•  Voice Recognition Disabled: Touch-Tone interface only. Next version will feature voice control.

•  Chapter Number Search: Your entry must be three-digits long (eg. 001, 002, 099 etc.).

•  Touchtone controls: Some PBX phones generate non-standard tones that the prototype will not recognize. To be corrected with next release.

•  Menu and Option Prompts, and all Content recordings are of preliminary quality and will be upgraded.

•  Learning Agent disabled: the system will not learn from your actions. If you skip a song, it may still appear in a future rotation.

•  Skipping several songs leads to an ad: The system is designed to allow navigation and programming flexibility, but advertising pays for the service. At timed intervals from 3-5 minutes, a brief ad will be served (not unlike radio). Chosen content continues upon conclusion of the ad.

•  The service won't learn my number: The tracking and membership system relies on Caller-ID. If your number is blocked or unavailable, the service cannot associate it with you. You can still access personal settings by logging-in.

•  Instant Membership: Feature is turned OFF for the prototype. You do not need to be a member to enjoy the service. If you have not been issued a member number, request one via e-mail: info@anywareradio.com.

•  The service does not remember my last visit: If in an area with poor wireless service or calling from a Caller-ID-blocked phone, and you did not login, the system cannot associate that history file with you (poor wireless service impedes Caller-ID). Login to access your bookmarks.

•  No purchasing, no live operators: This is a proof-of-concept demo only.

•  Personalization: The current version does not allow a member to alter their nickname or ID number. The next release will allow nicknames, customizable menus, favorite channel settings and other personalized features.

•  Advanced search features are disabled: voice-aware artist, catalog, and thematic searches will be enabled in the next release.

•  Limited content selections pending licensing agreements.

•  Help Prompts: Next version will offer further contextual Help services. Members can select the level of Prompts and Help necessary (experienced listeners can opt to navigate without prompts or system guidance; new listeners may wish for more explanatory prompts).

•  QuickCode Errors: Alpha software limitations cause intermittent input recognition errors. For proper function on this prototype, the number should be entered slowly, followed by Pound (#). The system may require extra time to determine the entry is valid, but should resume within ten seconds. Attempt a * command before abandoning the call. Next release to improve tone recognition and introduce voice search.

•  Call Disconnects: On rare occasion you may find yourself disconnected abruptly by the system. If either of these conditions is true, please note to AnyWare Radio any detail possible on the circumstances, content and keystroke activity at the moment of your disconnect: a) You are on a land-line and your session is unexpectedly disconnected; or, b) You are wireless and the service announces that it needs to close the session (unannounced drops and signal loss may not be associated with AnyWare Radio).
